Die Warschauer Zitadelle (Original Title)

Poland has been wiped off the face of the map of Europe and groans under Russian tyranny. The youth of Warsaw are planning a demonstration to mark the Czar's birthday. The student Konrad Welgorski, recently released from prison, hears about this protest and recognizes it as being foolish. Konrad is not understood by his colleagues and some even think him a coward and traitor. When one of his comrades goes ahead with the ill thought out plan, it fails and Konrad has to flee Warsaw to avoid being re-arrested as a co-conspirator. But his fight to re-gain Poland's freedom -- with the help of his mother and sister -- is far from over.
